I had a busy wonderful weekend, I hope you did too!
I started out with a Friday field trip to the beach with my hubby for lunch at our favorite place, The Rivers End. This restaraunt is the best because only the locals know it hides at the end of the beach near the windsurfing rigging area. They must have a special deal with someone, because they are the only restaurant on the beach. The reason it is named The Rivers End is because it is the end of the San Gabriel River, where it meets the ocean. It now is the fairway for the local harbors but back when the restaurant first opened, it was just a lone little taco bar among the seagulls.A few pics of our heaven.
Our View...awwww
Friday night was Home made guacamole beer and tequila shots...yummm!
Saturday was another fun filled day, complete with a trip to the ArtBar in Santa Ana's Artist Village (pictures and details to come, I want to do it justice). Once we got home, I worked on a few things, including documenting a trip to Gum' Antiques (another trip I will show you later). During photographing my finds in the backyard, my kitty high-jacked the shoot and was a much cuter subject. Here is a Kitty Collage from his intrusion...
Sunday was another fun filled day. We started with a bike ride and breakfast in the Huntington Beach Central Park down the street about 4 miles (that's 8 miles both ways, my legs are still feeling it!)
The rest of Sunday was laundry, dog baths and BBQ'ing dinner in the backyard. We had planned to see Alice but ran out of energy and time, oh well there's always next weekend!
Well that was a snapshot of my weekend, geez I am tired...but relaxed :) What did you do?
Have a wonderful Sunday night, see you soon.

ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend. Are you in Orange County? I'm a Los Angeles native. Your little hide away eatery sounds divine.

Thank you for visiting my Magpie's Nest Kristin!
ReplyDeleteHow nice that it brought me here to your lovely blog! We were lucky enough to have lunch at River's End a couple of years ago, we enjoyed it so much. I still have the photo of a gorgeous shrimp salad that had fresh edible flowers on it and it tasted great too! Our screen saver is one of the shots we took from the restaurant.
